Grains Co-op Planning Meeting

March 8, 2014 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Wheat Berries Being Winnowed at Harvest Fest

At our first meeting we will be starting off on the road towards a local Permaculture grains cooperative for people interested in sourcing high-quality grains as locally and ethically as possible.

This is not a general co-op membership meeting, hence the fancy-pants title. This is just a meeting for people interested in volunteering on a committee to make recommendations on the geeky basics of the co-op and determine whether or not it’s even feasible. Anyone interested in researching such mundane geekery is strongly encouraged to attend.

Once we’re ready with the basics, we’ll be holding general meetings to set up the co-op, complete with punch and pie!

Helpful pre-meeting homework: How much oats, flour, barley do you think you use in a year? Remembering that you’d have to find a place to store it, and assuming it was offered at a competitive price, how much would you like to get from a local co-op?
