Van Buren Conservation District Tree Sale

April 17, 2015 @ 10:00 am - April 19, 2015 @ 1:00 pm

Serviceberry Seedling in Mesh Protector

The Conservation District’s tree sales are events not to be missed. Here you can get bulk quantities of mostly-native perennials at very good prices, including many of our native forest trees and shrubs. Plants like Serviceberry, American Hazelnut, Nannyberry, American Plum, Spicebush, Elderberry and Pawpaw are of special interest to permaculturalists, but they have a wide range of coniferous and deciduous trees and many shrubs, as well as a selection of grafted fruit trees and potted berry bushes, plus tree protectors and marking flags. A great way to get a lot of “roots in the ground” inexpensively on larger properties and support an excellent organization while you do.

Note that the native plant sale, aka “Native Plant-Palooza” (featuring wildflowers, grasses, and other herbaceous perennials) is a separate event held a few weeks later.

This year they’re also having a “Leftovers Sale” the following weekend (4/24 – 4/26) at a market in South Haven. Please call the district office for exact pickup times.
